What We Believe
We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the Bible—Old and New Testaments—is the inspired, infallible Word of God. We believe the Word of God is the basis, as well as final authority, for our faith and practice. We look to the Bible to govern how we function. We believe that the Word of God supersedes any earthly law that is contrary to the Holy Scriptures.
We believe in one personal, transcendent, Triune God, the creator of all, who is eternally existent. And whom manifests Himself in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ being fully God became fully human as well, for the suffering of death. We believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by His substitutionary death as Man on the cross, was bodily raised from the dead, ascended back to the right hand of the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us. As the Savior, He is able to save completely all those who come to God through Him. We believe Jesus is returning again in a manner further described in a separate paragraph below.
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit who convicts the unsaved world of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come. He testifies of Jesus as the way of salvation. He also indwells, seals, and empowers every believer who trusts Christ for their salvation. The Holy Spirit in conversion baptizes us into the Body of Christ, making us a part of the spiritual family of God. He then dwells in us as our internal helper to empower us to live the Christian life and have fellowship with God. We further believe that the Holy Spirit will come upon any believer who asks for such, in order to supply them power to serve Christ fruitfully. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as further described in a separate paragraph below.
We believe that all people are, by nature, separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.
We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church where all believers will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. We also believe in the personal, visible, and premillennial second coming of Jesus Christ back to the earth. During which, He will return with His saints to set up His kingdom to rule as promised in Scripture. We also believe that the nation of Israel still has a unique place in God’s final plan and that all the promises to Israel shall be fulfilled accordingly.
We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in the Scriptures, and that they are valid for today if they are exercised within scriptural guidelines. We as believers are to desire the best gifts, seeking to exercise them in love so that the whole Body of Christ might be edified. We believe that love is more important than the most spectacular gifts, and without this love, all exercise of spiritual gifts become worthless.
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the Body, His Church. We look to Him to Guide and Govern the congregation of His people. He is our Chief Shepherd and the Overseer of our souls. Our church leadership style is to seek to receive Jesus’ direction for us (through the Spirit’s leading) and then implement what our Lord wants us to do, so that He is honored as the foremost priority in our function.
