Building A Stable Inspired Course

BASIC is a Spiritual and Moral “Boot Camp” for men, designed to develop core character traits to “Man-Up” as God intended, and to prepare them for the challenges of life. Everyone who completes the 12 sessions will be awarded at the final session with a steak dinner and T-Shirt.

BASIC is open to all men age 16 and up, and is not limited to those who regularly attend Calvary Chapel Gateway.

Each of the 12 sessions will run 45-50 minutes and will be held one Saturday morning a month, starting promptly at 7am. Previous sessions will be available on CCG’s YouTube page, and should be linked here as well.

Commitment - October 8th (replay)

• Following through with things

• Staying on task without giving up or getting distracted

• Dependbility. Being responsible, faithful, and reliable

• Resolve to do what it requires to finish

Convictions - November 5th (replay)

• Establishing right values spiritually and morally as foundational to who you are

• Holding to your non-negotiable convictions

• Integrity and honesty

Discipline - December 10 (replay)

• Living with structure and understanding its value

• Being productive to avoid laziness

• Exercising self-control in desires and choices

Decision Making - January 14 (replay)

• The importance and impact of decisions

• How to make healthy decisions

• Decisiveness in decision making

Conscientiousness - February 11 (replay)

• Caring about doing things right

• A desire to perform duties well with thoroughness and attention

• Not being careless in activities or lifestyle

Leadership - March 11 (replay)

• The need to embrace our God given role

• Traits of good leadership

• The importance of example

• The need to take initiative

Honor - April 8 (replay)

• High regard for honoring God, women, and others

• Being respectful towards those deserving of such

• Taking responsibility for your own actions

Stewardship - May 13 (replay)

• Management of time, talent, opportunities, finances, etc.

• Wisely handling assigned roles and responsibilities

• Negligence is unacceptable and wrong

Sacrifice - June 10 (replay)

• Willingness to suffer personally for higher purposes

• Learning to say "no to self" in order to help and bless others

• Exercising strength as a man to carry a heavier/harder load

Humility - July 8 (replay)

• Overcoming the danger of our pride

• Willing to do what's right instead of upkeeping an image

• Servanthood as a lifestyle

Courage - August 5 (replay)

• Facing hard and intimidating things in order to still do what is right

• Not being cowardly

• Not abandoning those who need us

Concern - September 9 (replay)

• Caring about people

• More concern for people than things, tasks, pursuits, achievements, etc
